Island Book One: Shipwreck starts out on a small schooner in the ocean, with the name Phoenix. There are six main characters in the book. There is a organization called Charting A New Course (CNC). This organization is designed to help troubled kids have a better future. Luke, Charla, J.J, Ian Will and Lyssa are the main characters you'll meet while reading the book.

Luke is a convicted felon, he either came on the trip with CNC or spent some time in a juvinile Detention center. Charla is a die hard athlete who's dad has to have three jobs so she can come on the trip and get away from sports. J.J. is an actors son who took his dads motorcycle and drove it through a shop window. The youngest of the group is Ian, he was a couch potato until his parents had enough of him watching TV all day. Will and Lyssa are brother and sister who are at each others neck all of the time.

Profesional Reviews

Six kids. One fate.
They didn't want to be on the boat in the first place. They were sent there as a character-building experience. But now that the adults are gone, the quest for survival has begun. This first book in a suspenseful survival trilogy delivers the gripping drama of people battling the elements to younger readers. http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1025223.Shipwreck

Six kids, Luke, J.J., Will, Lyssa, Charla, and Ian, are thrown together against their will on a small boat that will make a one-month journey on the Pacific Ocean. They have all been sent for different reasons. Luke is taking his only choice besides being sent to a juvenile detention facility for a crime he didn't commit. Will and Lyssa are quarreling siblings sent by their parents, who hope the trip will teach them to get along better. J.J. was sent by a movie-star father after he pulled one two many pranks. Ian's parents hoped to cure him of his TV addiction. Charla was sent because she was having an athletic "burnout." But these six totally different kids have to learn to work together to survive a vicious storm and a shipwreck that leave them stranded in the middle of the ocean with no food, no water, and almost no hope for survival. https://books.google.com/books/about/Shipwreck.html?id=sTIHjbMVU0AC
