Drop-Off and Dismissal

In order to provide a safe environment for our students, we ask that you follow these guidelines while dropping off or picking up your child. Also, please see the attached map.

  • All students will have designated pick-up numbers; parents must display this number when picking up all students, whether they are car riders or walkers.

  • Be patient. Waiting a few extra minutes is worth the safety of our children.

  • Remember that Speedway Avenue is a one-way street going east to west (toward Taft) from 7:30-8:45 am and 3:00-4:00 pm. The street between the Forum and the school is also one-way going south to north. Camelot Drive, behind Franklin, is one-way going west to east (toward Harrison) from 7:30-8:45 am and 3:00-4:00 pm.

  • Parents are welcome to walk up and collect students, but cannot leave a car parked on the curb nearest the school or on the street between the Forum and Franklin.

  • Siblings: The oldest siblings will be escorted by a teacher to the youngest sibling in the family for pick-up.

  • Pay attention to the Safety Patrol. They may not direct traffic. Their job is to ensure that students cross the street safely.

  • The Forum has asked that parents refrain from using their driveway and parking lots.

DROP OFF & PICK-UP DRIVING MAP

Morning Drop-Off at Franklin

  • Kindergarten through 5th grade students will be dropped off in front of school on Speedway.

  • All students will enter the building through the front doors.

Kindergarten Dismissal

  • Kindergarten will be dismissed on the east side near the Forum.

  • When arriving for dismissal, please have the student car tag easily visible and pull up to a cone as one becomes available.

  • Once parked at a cone, wait in your car for your student to load

  • Parents will remain in the car on the curb nearest to the school, by a cone and their student(s) will be delivered to the car.

  • Parents will not park on the curb nearest the Forum. It is extremely unsafe for students to cross this street to enter or exit a car. The Forum Street has a pick-up lane and a drive thru lane only. There is not enough room for 3 lanes of traffic.

  • Once a student is in a car, traffic moves north to Camelot Street and must turn right toward Harrison.

3rd & 5th Grade Dismissal

  • 3rd and 5th grade will be dismissed on the north side, at the back of the building, on Camelot Dr.

  • When arriving for dismissal, please have the student car tag easily visible.

  • 3rd and 5th grade parents can only pick-up on the curb nearest building. The left hand lane is for thru traffic only.

1st, 2nd & 4th Grade Dismissal

  • 1st, 2nd and 4th grade will be dismissed from the front of the building along Speedway.

  • Parents can only pick-up on the curb nearest Franklin. The left hand lane is for thru traffic only.

  • When arriving for dismissal, please have the student car tag easily visible

Grade Level Teacher Conference Periods

All of the Kinder-5th grade classroom teachers have their conferences scheduled each day while their students attend Art, Music, or P.E. We encourage all of our parents to contact your child’s teacher first whenever a concern may arise. Our teachers are professional educators and are very willing and capable of solving your educational problems.

If you visit your child’s teacher and still feel a need to discuss the specific situation, please feel free to give the office a call. Our primary concern is making sure that all of our students have a positive learning experience and feel good about themselves at our school.
