Wanted: Boosters Team for 2019-20
While the idea of taking on the presidency may seem daunting, whomever takes over will have a team of dedicated board members to teach you the ropes. Here is what a few of them have had to say about their tenure on Boosters:
"Being part of the EAMS Boosters has allowed me the ability to work side by side with phenomenal administrators, parents and teachers with one goal: enriching the experience of the students of East Avenue Middle School. I have had the opportunity to see first hand the difference the Boosters organization has made whether it be laughter at the dances, excitement about the new PE design, testimonials about an awesome assembly, or exhilaration for all the eighth grade activities to come. This is my last year that I will be on the board and it has been an enriching experience for me and a wonderful way to give back to the community. - Deanna Engleman, EAMS Boosters President
"As a full-time working parent, I am completing my second year as EAMS Booster Secretary. Boosters has been a way to stay involved in my middle schooler’s education by volunteering to support students and staff with events like Orientation, Staff Appreciation, Math Festival and School Dances. —Monique McAllister
There are several open positions, including president, vice president, treasurer and secretary. In order for the Boosters to continue these great activities at East Avenue, we need parent volunteers. These positions can be filled with parents, family members, incoming parents, etc. You can also split the roles with other volunteers. Without these positions filled, the Boosters for East Avenue Middle School will be disbanded and the funds will have to be donated elsewhere. In addition, we will lose all the activities hosted by the Boosters. We have a wonderful team of parents helping out the school this year and it is the perfect time to start shadowing the role to see if it is something you might be interested in. Please reach out to Deanna Engleman at eastavenuemiddleschoolboosters@gmail.com if you are able to fill one of these critical roles.
