Book Fair Fun

Thank you all for your incredible support of the JBE PTSO Scholastic Book Fair. Not only does the book fair put amazing books in the hands of our students, the PTSO earns money that is then put back into our school. It is such a win-win for our students. We had a wonderful Goodies for Grandparents with over 200 grandparents attending with their grandchildren.

St Baldrick's

Don't forget about the St. Baldrick's event being held here at Jesse Boyd on Saturday, March 26th from 10:30-2pm. The event will be held on our lower playground. We would love community support for this event. Ike's will be on hand with food. We will have entertainment, a great place for the kids to play, and a wonderful cause. Every 3 minutes a child is diagnosed with cancer. St. Baldricks is a unique way to raise money for childhood cancer research. We have several folks shaving or cutting their hair for this event. It's not too late to make a donation or even start a team. Please email John Harrill for more information about our event.

Iced Tea 'n IB

As most of you are aware, Jesse Boyd Elementary School is an authorized International Baccalaureate PYP school. But what really does that mean for your child? Our IB coordinator, Mary Kay Deese, will be hosting a Lunch and Learn on Tuesday, March 22nd from 12-1. Find out all the IB information that you've ever wondered about and see why we feel this program is not only unique but such a strong pedagogical approach to teaching our students.

SUIT up Wednesdays

This is a reminder to our male students. . Don't forget SUIT up Wednesdays. We are encouraging our male students to dress in a tie on Wednesdays. At lunch, our 3rd-5th grade students participating, will have talks on gentlemanly behavior. They will also have guest speakers and other exciting fun. Email Mr. Duvall for more information.

Lots of Socks

Monday, March 21st is World Down Syndrome Day. At Jesse Boyd we believe in each person's "different-abilities" and we also want to help raise awareness for our students that their normal isn't the only normal. We want our kids to show "their true colors" so we are encouraging our students to wear "lots of socks" on Monday. These can be regular every day socks, crazy wild color socks, or everything in between. We hope our students will participate.

Car Loop Reminders

As you know our car line is incredibly efficient and pretty fast. We do; however, ask for your cooperation with the following items:

1. Ensure your student gets out on the passenger side of your car. Our safety patrol cannot get on the road to open doors and it is very dangerous for students to exit on the left side due to moving traffic.

2. Have all papers signed, and backpacks ready for exit when you're in the circle.

3. Turn down your radio when in the car line. This helps with the safety of everyone.

4. Remember that all students can be dropped off at the K-1 door. If you have a student in multiple grades, it is not necessary to go through 2 lines.

5. As always, smoking, even in your car, is not permitted on the grounds of any Spartanburg School District 7 property. We appreciate your compliance with this policy.
