Board Approved Calendar Changes
At the Regular Board of Trustees Meeting held on December 13, 2021, the board approved changes to the student calendar for the 2021-22 school year.
The changes to the calendar, are as follows:
- January 10-13 Finals (see class calendars for specific dates)
- January 13, 2022 – FULL SCHOOL DAY All Grades
- January 14, 2022 – NO SCHOOL Grades 6-12, Early Release for K-5
- April 13, 2022 - NO SCHOOL Grades 9, 10 and 12: Junior 11th grade SAT Testing (Does not apply to Renaissance & IFAA)
- June 2, 2022 - FULL SCHOOL DAY All Grades: 6-12 Last Day of School
- June 3, 2022 - EARLY RELEASE Grades K-5: K-5 Last Day of School
Aside from the SAT date change, the reasons for the proposed changes are the challenges associated with lack of bussing resources and availability of routes due to an early release bell schedule. The early release scheduled times for dismissal and pick up between elementary and secondary does not follow the typical ‘staggered’ release of a full school day. Currently, the early release bell schedule releases and picks up multiple grade levels/programs of students at the same time. This is not a viable schedule given transportation resources and number of available routes.

Math iReady Diagnostic
Our math teachers have shared the fall scores and January goals with their students. Teachers will also follow up with students and parents to share the results from the upcoming diagnostic assessment. Please help us by:
- Review your students fall score and their goal for the upcoming assessment.
- Encourage them to give their best effort.
- Have their computer charged daily (the iReady diagnostic will be taken on the computer for the entire class period).
- Bring headphones that can plug in. We have headphones that students can borrow, but many prefer their own.
Thank you for your support!

Such a kind and amazing effort by our Eagle Middle School students and a big THANK YOU to everyone that was able to contribute to these two great causes!
INCLEMENT WEATHER INFORMATION
With the start of winter storms, West Ada School District is again planning and ready for the possibility of school closures. The decision to close schools is a process that is not taken lightly by the district. As storms approach, district staff monitor weather forecasts in preparation to check road conditions during the night and into the early morning before the start of school. If school is canceled because of poor road conditions, information about the closure will be posted on the district website and local media will also be notified.
