Weekly Update
We had a great week at Elk Ridge celebrating Read Across America week! It was fun to end the week with read ins and our Ranger Way Assemblies.
We have been getting several questions about attendance recently. Here is a quick overview of our attendance procedures.
During COVID our normal attendance policy was put on pause, as we've navigated through COVID we are returning to our original attendance policy. We know many families are unaware of this policy, below is an outline of the different attendance letters and some of our attendance policies. Please feel free to call the office if you have any additional questions about attendance.
We have 2 letters that go out monthly, an unexcused absence letter and an excessive letter. The first letter is the unexcused absence letter, this letter informs families that their student has 3 or more unexcused absences. This means families have not called or emailed the office to let them know why their student was out. Please note examples of excused absences are doctors and dentist appointments, and illness.
The second letter is an excessive absence letter, this letter is an informative letter to let you know how many total absences your student has. Please note this letter is based on a threshold every month which means you may receive monthly letters as your student hits those different thresholds.
The Ranger Way
Teen Wellness Night
The White River School District and Enumclaw School District have teamed up to host a series of Wellness events this year beginning with our second event on March 28th at Enumclaw High School. Our goal is to build community awareness and forge partnerships with families, community-based organizations, family resource providers, and agency partners in support of our collective commitment to the health and safety of our kids.
We will have resources available that include mental health, family support, addiction and treatment, and other agencies focused on supporting our youth and their families.
