Mrs. Grossie, Mrs. Lafleur, and Mrs. Thibodeaux made butter with their 4th graders. The students read a fable about not giving up and persevering through different challenges. Their teachers figured making butter was a great way to teach the students how hard work and perseverance pays off in the end. The students were able to eat butter and crackers to celebrate all of their hard work. This was a great cross curricular activity that the students really enjoyed.

4th Graders at Park Vista Elementary celebrated African American History Month with 2 special guest speakers. Their guest speakers were the Honorable Elbert Lee Guillory and Chief of Police Martin McLendon. The fourth graders were excited to be able to listen to their words of wisdom on "Climbing that Mountain" and "Practicing Excellence" in all that they do. We appreciate these community leaders who took time out of their day to be a beacon of hope for our students at Park Vista.
