Week 8

Term One

What we have been up to this week in Year 2

This week we have been very busy completing our first iMaths Investigation. The last 4 weeks numeracy lessons have been leading up to the investigation, focusing on whole number, probability and chance. The children were allocated teams and as a team decided on assigned roles: team leader, time keeper, recorder or messenger. All students were actively engaged in the Quizit challenge, which not only focused on numeracy skills but working together successfully as a team member. All teams completed the investigation to a high level and should be very proud of their achievement.

On Thursday we had our first Chimes lesson with Mark. The children enjoyed the lesson and were very engaged. We are looking forward to the next 4 lessons. Check out the pictures below (Once I figure out how to successfully load the videos taken I will send them through).

As part of our Transport unit, we experimented with making paper aeroplanes. The children enjoyed trying out their designs and discussed how they could change the design to make it fly further.

We are looking forward to a great eighth week!
