LTMS Highlights
Bus Driver Appreciation
This past week was National School Bus Safety Week. We take it for granted, but many, many students would not be able to attend school if not for busing.
It's important to thank our bus drivers. And our Student Council, as they always do, made sure to shower them with some praise and thank yous.
Under Mrs. Moriarity and Mrs. Robert's supervision, we have a great group of STUCO kids. The signs and gifts they design and put together for staff members are excellent!
Science Classrooms
6th Grade
Sixth grade science students had some fun involving gummy bears. Students used their metric measuring skills to find initial measurements of their bears and generate a hypothesis on what water would do to the bears. Check with your student to see if their hypothesis was correct and what they learned!
7th Grade
In 7th grade science, , Mr. Shonamon had students collect leaves for a project involving math and science. Students measured the size of a leaf and then using their knowledge about oxygen production, used a math formula to determine how many leaves it would take to produce an hour's worth of oxygen. Hint: It takes A LOT of leaves!
8th Grade
Students learned about the Earth's layers in a delicious way during science! Using various ice cream toppings, Mrs. Talbott had students create models of the Earth. From the Hershey's kiss (inner core) to the Oreo crumbs (lithosphere), students were able to connect to the learning!
Band Night at DHS Homecoming
Our band joined DHS and MC at the DHS Homecoming football game for "Band Night". This was an incredible experience for our students and they did AWESOME!
