2013 School of Recognition!
Last week, the Wisconsin Department of Instruction named Merton Intermediate a School of Recognition as a high-achieving school. There are 2,285 schools in Wisconsin and Merton Intermediate is one of only 14 schools that received this award. This is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students and staff and the tremendous support our Merton families provide to all members of our exemplary education community. We are honored and humble to be chosen for this award.
Monthly Wednesday Assembly
This Wednesday we had our first assembly of the school year. Here is a link to what I shared with the students. I hope that the students enjoyed our time together as much as I do. Your children were an awesome audience and I am proud to be their principal.
Dress code update
The first two days this week were hot ones, and because of this, many of our students dressed like it was summer. Well, we are back in school and with our return comes a return to routines and expectations. Of particular concern are the length of shorts for some of our students. Having a middle school child, I know that it is difficult to find shorts that are of appropriate length. The staff and I appreciate your assistance with this.
Merton twitter account
Although you might not be a member of the twitterverse, Merton Intermediate School has a twitter account (@mertonint). If you aren't on twitter, you can still find what I'm tweeting out about school by checking out the Intermediate School website (http://www.merton.k12.wi.us/faculty/PosickJ/twitter.cfm) or by sending "Follow @mertonint" to "40404" to get a text every time that I tweet something out.
