Chester Elementary School
June 7, 2019
Greetings CES Families,
Congratulations to Ms. Whalen and her Drama Team! They had an incredible production of Alice and Wonderland. Thirty six students and many adults helped make this happen. Great experience for all! Your support was greatly appreciated.
Library books? Any other school supplies? Ms. Mary is doing inventory in the library. if you have any library books please return them to the library. Thanks!
Lost and Found. Our lost and found is getting pretty full with jackets. Please encourage your child to check out the lost and found for any jackets, sweatshirts, etc. After June 14, we'll have to take the jackets to a second hand store. Thank you.
Summer meals. Please see the attached flyer regarding summer lunch meals being served to all students at CES from 11:30-12:30.
Please give us your feedback. We strive to continually improve and we would greatly appreciate a few (maybe only a couple) minutes of your time to answer our quick, anonymous 10 question CES Spring Survey. (We are also asking 2nd-6th graders to answer a brief anonymous survey.) You can click here https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/3MWLDXM or below to get started. Thanks for your time!
Start times in 2019-2020. We are looking at starting and finishing 10 minutes earlier next year, with a 1st bell at 8:05, and a release at 2:30 pm. (Monday release would be at 1:25). The vast majority of our students are already arriving at CES by 7:50 and the additional minutes would give us a little more cherished am learning time. Please let us know (email or call Nicole or Alan) if this would be a difficult transition for your family. Thanks for considering!
6th grade families - we'd like to invite you out to a fun, 6th graders vs. staff and parents softball (very soft ball) game on our last day of school at 11:15 am. We've done this at my previous schools and had a great time. There will be lots of trash talking and joking with our 6th graders one final time before we say goodbye and send them off to CJHS. They will definitely be missed - awesome class!
5th grade families: We were recommended a couple videos entitled "Always Changing" to support our 5th grade students and their physical growth and maturity. You are welcome to preview these videos at the links below. Thanks!
Our time has flown by this 2018-2019 school year as we enter the final week of school! We have enjoyed having your child at CES and we appreciate the ongoing support and collaboration to provide an exceptional elementary experience for our students. Best of luck to our 6th graders as they move on to CJHS! We'll be excited to welcome our new kindergarteners and remaining students back on August 21.
