Fractions, decimals & percentages
50% 0.5 1/2
1 = 100% 1/2 = 50% = 0.5 1/4 = 25% = 0.25 3/4 = 75% = 0.75
The difference between percentages,decimals and fractions is they are written differently.Fractions are split up to different amounts such as ¾ .This means there is a amount of cake for example that has been shared between four different people including yourself.Percentages are out of 100%.Percent means per century and in a century there is 100 years.That is why there is 100% percent as a starter.An example is the same as the fraction so there is a cake and you split it between four people. Decimals are made in between whole numbers, for example 0.5 + 0.5 = 1 because 0.5 is just a half of a number.If you are giving each other the same amount it will be 25% percent each.A way to solve it would be 100 divided by 4 and that will equal 25,or 10 divided by 4 if it is necessary to help you solve.If you want to do half of all the different ways of splitting half of a percentage,decimal and fraction would be it 50%,0.5 and ½ .Or other ways of solving a fraction of a half could go on for ever.2/4,3/6,4/8 and so on.All decimal problems all equal to one and 1 is like 100% in percentage.For 100% it will be the same as 1 for a decimal and 1 whole in fractions.
