Registration Packets
Registration packets for the 2016-2017 school year have been distributed to students through their English classes. If you have not seen yours, please take a moment to ask your student or check their backpack. There are several forms that require both your signature as well as your student’s signature. It is mandatory that these forms be signed and returned. Forms should be turned in to the Team 2019 office by May 20th.
PLEASE NOTE: We are seeing two areas parents are missing when filling out the registration paperwork
1 - Please make sure to answer the Armed Forces question just above the signature line on the back of the white contact information page.
2 – Please make sure to answer the IN Dept. of Education Work Survey on the back of the gold page, even if it does not apply.
Final Exams
It is amazing how quickly this school year has passed. Freshman year will officially be over on Thursday, May 26th. Final exams will be given on Wednesday, May 25th and Thursday May 26th. These exams count for 20% of your student's semester grades.
Attendance is mandatory on these dates, therefore, please limit appointments to non-exam days. In order to maintain the integrity of the testing environment, we will not be able to call into/or interrupt a testing classroom to get a student.
21st Century Scholars
Over the past two weeks we met with all 21st century scholars who had not completed their Scholar Success Program steps of their graduation plan and/or a volunteer or service activity in ScholarTrack. For the third activity, students must watch a YouTube video called “Paying for College 101” and take a short quiz in their ScholarTrack account by the end of the school year. To log in to ScholarTrack, please visit www.scholars.in.gov. If your student does not remember their log in info (typically it is their personal or parents’ email) please email Mrs. Frazer to reset their account.
Going Home Sick from School
We have seen an increase in students texting parents to say they are sick and need to go home from school. This practice is not permitted per our BCSC Handbook. All students should request a pass to the clinic when they do not feel well. The nurse will make a determination about the student’s ability to remain at school and contact parents and guardians if the student needs to go home. If a student contacts a parent to come and pick them up without going through the nurse, the absence will be considered “unexcused”. If the student is sent home by the nurse, the absence will be considered “medical”.
