Economy
Mongols have been herding for many years as a way of using the resources of their marginal arid environment. they developed extensive herds of sheep, goats, horses, and cattle, on their broad steppe grass lands. After Mongolia became Democratic Republic they started adopting elements of free market economic system. mining is important to the economy of Mongolia because they are rich in resources, providing over a quarter of the GDP, witch is 12,500.
trade
Mongolia's chief trading partner was the Soviet Union. But after the Soviet Union ended Mongolia sought to diversify their trade relations. Although Russia still remains a major trade partner, Mongolia's most important trade relationship is with China. Other main trade partners are the United States, Japan, and Canada.
History
Government
from 1920 to 1980 Mongolia was heavily influenced by the soviet union, but after the soviet union collapsed in 1991 Mongolia abandoned it's Socialist system and became Democratic Republic. in 1992 Mongolia adopted a new Constitution that renounced socialism, and changed the country's name to simply Mongolia, and made Mongolia a republic with parliamentary government and a elected president.
