Message From Central Road School
Mrs. Joanna Shostachuk, School Principal
A Note from Mrs. Shostachuk 8/9/2021
Dear Central Road Families:
We continue to work very hard to prepare for another amazing school year! Both August 16th and 17th are dedicated to professional development days for our teaching staff. We will be focused on preparing our students for academic, social-emotional, and functional preparedness. The safety and well-being our students and staff will continue to be our top priority as we will navigate various COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines. I thank you in advance for your patience and flexibility as changes willl continue to take place during the 21-22 school year. We are committed to providing the best possible educational experience for your child(ren).
Please also note that teacher/classroom assignments are now viewable by parents/guardians in Infinite Campus. Transportation and bus route information should be viewable in Infinite Campus as well. Whether your child attended school in person or virtually last school year, we will be welcoming all of our students back with open arms!
The Central Road teachers would like to invite all of our students to Meet the Teacher on Tuesday, August 17th from 8:30-9:30 am. Thank you for your understanding with our new, district-wide timeframe and for allowing our staff to continue with their meetings which will begin right after. We ask students to bring their school supplies to Meet the Teacher. We will be selling assignment notebooks outside (weather permitting) for $5.00 each. Any school forms or any needed medications can be dropped off as well. If you and your child are not able to attend our scheduled Meet the Teacher, your child may bring his/her supplies on their first day of school. School supply lists have been linked below for your review. We continue to monitor current Covid-19 mitigations. We ask for families to please be mindful of the number of family members attending. We continue to work to ensure a safe and healthy school environment. All adults and children entering our building on this day are expected to wear a mask.
To our new families, thank you for attending our virtual New Family Welcome! If you were not able to join us, please feel free to review the sides (below) discussed that evening. If you have any questions, please contact the school office for any additional clarification. We are excited to have our new families join our already amazing community! New Family Welcome Slides
We cannot wait to hear about summer adventures and the memories that our students enjoyed during the summer. There are a few days left to squeeze in any and all last minute experiences. We hope the information in our communication is helpful as we continue to prepare for our school year to begin. As every day gets closer to the first day of school, we continue to gain excitement and readiness!
Kindest Regards,
Joanna Shostachuk

A Note from the Central Road Health Office
Hello! I hope everyone is enjoying their summer so far! With the start of the new school year only a few weeks away, it is time to make sure your child’s health requirements are up to date.
All students new to District 15 will require a current physical exam with all immunizations up to date (Certificate of Child Health Examination), and students new to the State of Illinois will require an eye examination. This form is available in the school office, online, and here: State of Illinois Eye Examination Report.
All students should provide proof of immunizations by October 15, 2021, or the student will be excluded from school. The list of current immunizations can be found on the district website here: IDPH Health Requirements.
Students with health conditions such as asthma, epilepsy/seizures, severe allergies, and diabetes require the emergency action plan completed by their physician along with the Medication Administration Forms, signed by the physician and parent, for any medications required at school. Please bring these forms and medications on or before the first day of school. These forms are available in the school office, online, and here
Diabetic Medical Management Plans must be brought in along with medication and supplies prior to or on the first day of school in order for the student to attend.
If your child requires any of these health documents and you have not done so already, please kindly make an appointment with your doctor as soon as possible. If you have any questions regarding the above requirements, you may reach me at patela1@ccsd15.net. I will be back in the office the first week of August to answer any phone calls. At that time, we will also have more specific information to share related to COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions for the upcoming school year. Thank you for your patience. Stay safe and enjoy the rest of your summer!
