Principal's Message
Dear Fammatre Families,
This week has brought us some very hopeful news on several fronts! School staff who would like to be vaccinated have been able to sign up to receive a vaccine starting next week. As Dr. Andrews communicated yesterday, we are one step closer to having our students back on campus.
With the anticipated return to the red tier on March 2nd, our plan is to have all of our students in our Preschool and SDC TK-5 Programs return to school on Monday, March 8th. Students in general Education TK-5 Claseses in the A cohort return to school on Monday, March 15th, and our students in the B cohort on Thursday, March 18th. Please see the message from Dr. Andrews for more information about returning. Please join me at our next Home and School Club meeting on Monday, March 1st at 7:00pm for further updates.
I held a Principal Coffee on Tuesday, February 23 and shared information related to our return to in person learning, the Local Control Accountability Process and State Academic Testing. Here is the presentation if you missed it: http://bit.ly/37GIj2c. In addition, I will be hosting a Principal Coffee on Wednesday, March 3rd at 5:00pm to go over the school-wide processes and procedures for the return to in person learning. The link for the session will be emailed out to Fammatre Families on the morning of March 3rd.
In other wonderful news, the San Jose City Council voted 9-2 to approve Cambrian School District’s general plan amendment for the land redevelopment project at Metzler C on Cambrianna Drive. This will create a source of unrestricted revenue for our district to support our students and the programs we are able to offer for many years to come. Thank you to all who attended the San Jose City Council meeting on Tuesday and to those who gave public comments in support of the effort. Your efforts really did make a positive difference!
Thank you for your continued collaboration and support as we navigate the transition to hybrid learning in the coming weeks.
Warmly,
Jackie Smith

LCAP Survey 2021-2022
CSD Local Control Accountability Plan Survey 2021-22
The goal of the community planning process is to gather feedback on the design and implementation of the district’s priorities for the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP). To accomplish this, we are gathering community input. Your participation is critical in this decision-making process, and we appreciate your assistance with this survey.
The Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) is California’s formula for determining the level of state funding allocated to districts to provide for their state-supported general and supplemental programs. The Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) is LCFF’s vehicle for transparency and engagement. The LCAP allows us to share performance data, needs, actions, and anticipated outcomes that guide the use of available LCFF funding.
Thank you for your time and for completing our LCAP survey. For your convenience, you can preview the questions by clicking HERE. This survey will be available from February 19th through March 12th.

US Department of Agriculture Extends Free Meal Programs for the Entire School Year
Free brown bag meals are available for pickup at Price Middle School, Monday through Friday from 11 am-1 pm. Daily service provides lunch for that day and breakfast for the following day. Friday service also provides breakfast and lunch for Saturday and Sunday and breakfast for Monday. These meals are free to every child aged 18 and younger. You do not need to show any ID and children do not need to be present to receive meals.
Applications to apply for subsidized meal programs are available online at https://family.titank12.com. These applications not only provide access to much-needed benefits for our families; they also serve as a data point used to generate additional revenues we rely on as a District. For this reason, we encourage all of our families to complete the application process even if they may not elect to participate in the meal program. This will ensure we are maximizing our revenue opportunities which will allow us to continue offering excellent educational programs that make us Cambrian. We look forward to continuing to serve our students and provide an important home to school link for our students.

Cambrian Students Need Your Support
Due to chronic state underfunding, declining enrollment, and the COVID-19 pandemic, the Cambrian School District is facing a budget deficit. Since early 2019, the District has been assessing potential district-owned land development opportunities to create additional on-going, annual revenue to sustain our award-winning programs.
You can help PROTECT STUDENT PROGRAMS by supporting the "Support Our Students" land development initiative. Thirty seconds of your time can help generate hundreds of thousands of dollars in ongoing, annual revenue without increasing taxes in the community.
