December Newsletter

Hello, New Family Ambassadors! Included in this month's newsletter are some hot topics for the month of December and in anticipation of our return in January for you to share with your new families. As always, thank you for your time and effort in making our new families feel a part of the Academy community. You are a big reason Fort Worth Academy is an Incredible school!

Holiday Parties/Last Day of School

All grades have a holiday party (organized by the room parents) on the last day before winter break, December 18th during the final 30-45 minutes of the day. That day is a ½ day- 11:45 am dismissal for lower school; 12 pm dismissal for middle school. There is NO aftercare that day. Families may check with their room parent's as to what each grade is doing for teacher gifts, either individual or a group gift.

The Big Return

Lower School students will return to campus at 8:00 am on Tuesday, January 5, 2016. The day will be a normal school day in both time and activities, lunch, dismissal etc. See the "Mid Winterim" section below for the middle school students' schedule.

When Middle School students return from the Winter Break, they will begin Mid-Winterim. This unique three-day program is designed to provide students with opportunities to explore special interests and to expand academic boundaries. Mid-Winterim classes will begin at 10:00 a.m. on January 5, and will continue through

January 7, 2016.

The Middle School faculty will be making special preparations for these courses from 8-9:45 each morning. Since faculty members will not be able to supervise students, the Middle School building will not be open until 9:50. Students: please do not arrive at school before 9:50!

We are aware that, some families are unable to arrange transportation for students to school at 9:50 ama. A special course will be available for a limited number of students from 8:15-9:45 am. Reservations may be made. Reservations for this early morning class must be made by December 10th, so we can plan accordingly. This class begins at 8:15 am each morning. This is not a “drop-in” course, and the school will not be able to accommodate any students without reservations.
