Team Time Round 2
Taken from this video review by Job Eric Ziaer
Use Critical Friends Protocol with an upcoming UbD Unit’s learning experiences
Review common formative assessment results - The video mentions developing the common formative assessment during Round 1; however, our team did not do this (in addition, there was a misunderstanding among members of the meeting as to what the focus of common assessment was to be)
Data analysis/action steps utilizing progress report grades and creation of instructional support plan - use this form prior to Round 2
During the next two weeks of instruction, these action steps will be implemented. There will be a Google Doc to record results. Follow-up will occur during the Round 3 Team Time.

Use ReadWorks Digital to Find & Share Reading Assignments
ReadWorks Digital is built upon the popular ReadWorks service for finding articles aligned to grade level, lexile, and Common Core standards. ReadWorks articles are accompanied by reading comprehension questions, vocabulary lists, and discussion questions. The ReadWorks Digital platform makes it easy for you to distribute articles and assignments to students in an online classroom environment. Within ReadWorks Digital teachers can track students’ progress on assignments, see responses to questions, and grade students’ responses to questions.
In the video below you can see the teacher side and student side of ReadWorks Digital.

ESL Certification Information
From Mr. Jasso:
I email to provide you with information related to our ESL certification discussion in the English Department meeting this morning. A reminder that CISD is moving towards improved service for ESL students through English instruction. This means that new hires, as well as current staff, will be required to obtain ESL certification by the Spring of 2017. CISD will pay for one exam fee for each teacher impacted (you can elect to take the digital test). The cost of updating your certification status with SBEC would be paid by the teacher, however. Below are resources to help you learn more about this certification and resources to help you prepare for this exam.
We will pursue face to face training for interested teachers and provide that time and date when available. Thank you again for your positive attitude (and the Diet Cokes)!
