Penny Road, the PTA, and our kids need you!
The 2018 Penny Road PTA Nominating Committee has been formed in order to fill the Executive Board positions for the 2018-19 school year. We have 5 members of the current board who, after a combined 15+ years of service, are stepping down. This is a wonderful time to get involved with the Penny Road PTA! We have many different positions available to suit different interest levels, talents, and time commitments. If you want to be involved, there is a spot for you! We encourage anyone who might be interested to reach out to our Nominating Committee: Barb Wright (babshall@gmail.com), Amber Olah (olah.amber@gmail.com) or Beth Potts (elizabeth.potts@ymail.com).
2nd Annual March Fruits and Veggies Challenge
March is National Nutrition Month. The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics' theme this year is "Go Further With Food" which acts as a reminder that we can always challenge ourselves and our families to try new foods. Penny Road's Health and Wellness Committee wants to encourage families and staff to TASTE THE RAINBOW this month. Try as many of the foods listed on the attached sheet between now and Spring Break. Each time you try a new food listed, check off the box and write down what you think. Turn your sheet into Mrs. Martin by March 27th (even if it isn't completely filled out) for a chance to win a prize. We will select a winner from each grade level who really "went for it". Bonus points will be awarded to anyone who attaches a paragraph, poem or picture (for the younger students) demonstrating what you learned from trying new foods. email any questions to Amy Gresko at agresko@nc.rr.com.
