One District, One Book for Our Community #SASD_ABC
Dear SASD Parent/Guardian,
We hope you enjoyed last summer's Friendship According to Humphrey reading project. This year, the District is excited to begin another reading project with our community!
One District, One Book is this year's summer reading project. Each elementary family in the Souderton Area School District will receive a copy of Cleo Edison Oliver, Playground Millionaire by Sundee Tucker Frazier, to read together. Cleo Edison Oliver, Playground Millionaire is a title that can be followed and enjoyed by younger students, but that will still captivate and stimulate older children.
Reading at home is a fun, worthwhile family activity. With the One District, One Book program, we aim to build a community of readers in our District.
In addition to reading, the One District, One Book project offers families a variety of optional activities. The fun activities range from coloring and bingo, to trivia and entrepreneurial business plans! There is something for children in kindergarten through 5th grade. Use the links below to access the activities.
Optional Activities:
- Lower and Upper Elementary Math
- Trivia Questions
- Bingo
- What is the Better Deal? Game
- Various Activity Sheets - Coloring, Word Search, and More!
- Business Plan
*Note: Children are encouraged to turn their completed plan in to their school or the District Office over the summer to share with the SASD community of readers!
Good luck! We look forward to sharing with you the gift of reading this summer and learning about Cleo and her struggle to balance friendship and business on the playground.
Share your reading experience using #SASD_ABC!

SAOA Virtual Learning for 2021-2022
Dear SAOA Parent/Guardian,
Souderton Area School District is very pleased to have been able to offer families the virtual-only option of the Souderton Area Online Academy (SAOA) throughout this challenging year. With the conclusion of this school year, we will be shifting our online learning program to an expanded K-12 version of our Souderton Area Virtual Academy (SAVA).
Prior to the pandemic, SAVA had been supporting secondary students for almost a decade in providing a blended learning solution. Beginning in 2021-2022, SAVA will be expanded to include a full-time virtual learning opportunity for elementary as well as secondary students.
SAVA’s virtual curriculum features courses in mathematics, science, language arts, world languages, social studies, and electives. All courses are standards-based to ensure the highest quality education for students. The curriculum has been specifically designed for use in online instruction and each course is backed by PA certified teachers.
SAVA is supported by our district administrators and infrastructure, which provides a high-quality, personalized, flexible education that fits the needs of your child and family. While enrolled in SAVA, students have full access to Souderton Area School District student support services, special education supports and services, athletics, clubs, extracurricular activities, counseling, and more. Students who graduate from SAVA receive a Souderton Area School District diploma that is highly regarded by colleges and universities.
Any family who wishes for their student to attend school virtually next year in the SAVA program is asked to complete pre-registration at the link below by Friday, June 18th.
