Week of October 12
Hanging in There!
We have completed our 6th week of school and all things considered, we are moving along nicely. Our students and staff have done a fantastic job adjusting to the school in the Covid 19 era. One of the things that we must continue to do is wear our masks during the school day and practice social distancing, especially at lunch when masks are off. In addition, when encourage our student to continue these same practices when they are outside of school, especially when they are in groups. We understand people have different opinions about wearing masks and they can be a major pain, but if each of us do our part, it increases our chances of keeping students in school, which is where they learn best. Let us all work together so we can continue to provide our students with the face-to-face instruction our students deserve.
Reminder of our PSAT/SAT testing schedule for this month:
12th grade: SAT on Wednesday, October 14th.
10th and 11th grade: PSAT/NMSQT on Thursday, October 29th
9th grade: Digital PSAT 8/9 on Thursday, October 29th
Seniors will not have to report to school on October 29th
We would like our full-time POA and hard-copy students to attend school on the day of their test. Seniors will be done around 1:00pm on the 14th and 9th-11th graders will be done around noon on the 29th.
CTE Students in Action!
WHS student TJ Magnuson uses a coil roofing nailer to attach a shingle to his group's shed project. Students Connor Picotte, Gavin Dawson, and Justin Luce are cutting and holding the shingles in place. This will be the first of many sheds the WHS Construction trades class will complete this school year.
Our CTE Welding program includes both Westwood and Ishpeming High School students.
