Going for the Gold!
State Testing Opt Out Notice
Each year, parents may choose to opt their child(ren) out of state testing, as required by House Bill 2655. Please refer to the attached notice, which gives you more information about this. Opt out forms can be found in the office. Findley students will begin state testing following spring break. Please look for more information on specific schedules from your child’s teacher.
Classified Appreciation Week
March 6-10
We are thankful for our wonderful classified staff and all they do to support Findley students and staff.
Extended Absences or Trips
If you anticipate your child will be absent for 10+ consecutive school days, please complete and submit a “Notice of Extended Absence” form to the font office. Forms are located in the font office and on page 25 of Parent handbook on our website. Teachers are unable to provide homework for students who are absent for extended periods of time, as it is not possible to replicate the missed instructional time. When it is essential for students to miss school for extended periods, they may be asked to read and keep a written journal. (This also includes trips for a few days).
Battle of the Books!
Battle of the Books Season is almost over. We can't wait for our final gathering to celebrate the great sportsmanship and fabulous reading this year during our ice cream party on Tuesday, March 6th during lunch.
Congratulations to the Four Knights in 3rd grade: Ashvant Daniel, Anders Hamilton, Anshul Mantri, Riley Thammakhoune. They are the Findley Elementary Battle of the Books Champions! Wish them luck at Regions on Saturday, March 17th!
Great season everyone!
Kindergarten Registration is Open!
Kindergarten registration for Fall 2018 is now open to Beaverton resident students. Students must be five years of age on or before September 1st, per State Statute, and live within the attendance boundary of our school. We invite you to register early as this assists us in confirming enrollment for staffing purposes. Please present a birth certificate or passport that the office may copy for your child's enrollment file. Beaverton School District provides full-day kindergarten in all elementary schools. You will receive more information at Kindergarten Round Up, scheduled for April 12th. Feel free to share this information with your neighbors who have their first child starting kindergarten next fall.
