Welcome Back
Twin Peaks Middle School - Home of the Rams
A Message from the Principal...
Dear friends,
I hope that you have made the most of your summer break, traveling, reading, going to the beach, and doing those things that make you happy. I hope, like me, you are excited to return to work, even if it means having to wake up a little earlier than you would like. We have a lot to look forward to this year and I can’t wait to update you on everything when we are all together (full staff) on Monday. For now, I want to share that we have a new crop of wonderful students joining us. Thanks to our WEB Team, Casey McKibbin, Megan Fenwick and Danielle Rubacky for facilitating a top-notch orientation for them. They are a spirited group…and I mean this is the best sense of the word. They are already “loud and proud!” Kodi Keller has been busy getting our ASB students ready for registration and opening day. As of today, the office staff is officially all back to work. And, the custodians continue to prep the campus for our launch on August 22nd.
When you return to work, you will notice many new faces. You may find this hard to believe, but we have 10 new teachers joining us this year, and while there is still more hiring left to do, when all is said and done, more than 20 new people will join our team. Think about it – that’s roughly 20% of our staff. It will be important for each of us to welcome and support them. We will need to teach them the Ram Way and be open to learning from them as well. Believe me, they come with many strengths and talents, and they are so happy to be here. I can’t wait for you to meet them!
So with this much transition in staff, it shouldn’t surprise you that school culture will be one of our primary focus areas for the year. Actually, the timing couldn’t be better in that it aligns with Superintendent Phelps’s vision to transform culture across PUSD. Certificated staff will hear from her on Friday and I will recap her message for the entire staff when we meet on Monday. Here’s a sneak peek…it’s all about creating the conditions and culture needed to support world class learners. This excites me because regardless of role – teacher, custodian, administrator, Food and Nutrition employee, etc. – the vision is relevant. Each one of us can have a hand in shaping world class learners. I look forward to doing this work on behalf of our community with each of you at my side. Together we will continue to build success and inspire every child, every day.
Let’s make 2018-19, the best year yet to be a Ram!
With much anticipation for what is yet to come,
