Character Counts!

The Rennell staff voted to become a PBIS - Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports - campus. The staff worked together over the summer to establish 4 school-wide rules that fit into a matrix for each area in our building. This week, we taught your students our 4 main school-wide expectations which spell out SOAR: Safe, On-Task, Accountable, Respectful. When staff members notice students exhibiting these behaviors, they earn SOAR bucks, which they can save up and then use to purchase things in their classroom and school-wide store such as Shoes off, Lunch with a Friend, or even Play Ping Pong with the Principal!

Akers' All-Stars

Students are nominated for this Principal’s recognition award by their peers or staff members for going above and beyond our school expectations - those who exhibit leadership, kindness, and extraordinary character! Watch our weekly newsletter to see featured students beginning next week!

Newspapers Needed

Our fabulous Art Teacher, Mrs. Douglas is in need of some newspapers for upcoming art projects. If you have any old newspapers that you would be willing to donate, please send them with your child to school or drop them by our front office. Thank you so much!

Signing in and Signing Out

As an added safety measure this school year, our district has put in place a new procedure for signing in to the front office when you come to visit, volunteer, or drop something off. At all of our CFISD campuses, you will ring the doorbell and be asked, "How can we help you?" Next, our receptionist will unlock the door to allow you in to the secured vestibule. Visitors will be let into the vestibule one at a time. Please do not hold open the door for those behind you, as we want to make sure they have business at our school before allowing them in.

Please head straight into our reception area to check in. If you'll be visiting any area of the building with students, you'll be asked to present a photo ID for us to check you into our system and provide you with a visitor sticker. Please keep this sticker on at all times while you are visiting our school. Staff are trained to look for this sticker as a safety measure so that we can take action if there is a visitor in the building without a sticker.

When your visit at Rennell is complete, please check back out at the front office and leave your sticker.

Thank you for helping us to keep our students safe!
