Dear Luxmanor Families,


I am excited for the return of our students for in person learning! On March 1st, we welcomed back students in our SCB program and I can't tell you how great it is to hear students in their classrooms and hallways. On March 15th we will welcome back our students learning in person in grades K-2. Our 3rd grade students who are on the A week schedule will begin on March 15th and our 3rd grade students who are on the B week schedule will begin on March 22nd. After our return from spring break on April 6th, we will welcome our 4th and 5th grade students who are on the A week schedule and on April 12th we welcome back our 4th and 5th grade students on the B week schedule.


During the grade level virtual orientation meetings next week, teachers will share more details regarding the schedule, lunch/recess, etc. Teachers will send you the link for the meeting. You will find the schedule below.


Kindergarten - Monday, March 8th, 7:30 p.m.

1st Grade - Thursday, March 11th, 7:30 p.m.

2nd Grade - Wednesday, March 10th, 6:30 p.m.

3rd Grade - Thursday, March 11th, 6:30 p.m.

4th Grade - Tuesday, March 9th, 6:30 p.m.

5th Grade - Monday, March 8th, 6:30 p.m.

Reopening Procedures

Staff Professional Days Week of March 8-12

March 8, 2021 - No School for Students

March 9 - 11, 2021 - Students will complete work at home that is provided by their classroom teacher. Students will not log into their virtual classes.

March 12, 2021 - Half day for students. Instruction ends at 11:30 a.m.

Student Meals

Bulk Meal Boxes Available for MCPS Families

The Division of Food and Nutrition Services is providing bulk box meals to help accommodate the schedules of working parents and meet the needs of MCPS students. DFNS will distribute boxes on Tuesdays (3 Day Meal Box) & Fridays (4 Day Meal Box) at two designated locations. More information can be found here.


Cajas de Comida Disponibles

La División de Servicios de Alimentos y Nutrición está proporcionando cajas de comidas para ayudar a acomodar los horarios de los padres que trabajan y satisfacer las necesidades de los estudiantes de MCPS. Student Transfer Applications

Student Transfer Application Season Underway
Montgomery County parents/guardians who wish to request a Change of School Assignment (COSA) for their children from their home school may begin the process during the transfer season that began on Feb. 1. All COSA requests must be submitted no later than April 1, 2021. More information is available here.

Elementary Immersion Application Process Now Open For The 2021-2022 School Year

The elementary application process for the 2021-2022 school year will remain open until April 23, 2021. Any student entering grades K–5 in the 2021-2022 school year may participate in the immersion application process. More information is available here.

TutorMe.com is a secure, online resource easily accessible through MCPS student Canvas and StudentVUE accounts and offers on-demand assistance. More information is available here.
