Understand Israel's Election

Power of the Parties

Power of the Parties

Israel will elect a new government on March 17, 2015. The new government will face significant foreign policy (security, peace negotiations, etc.) and domestic (economic hardship, army service, etc.) issues.

To understand the elections, one must understand the parties. Likud, Labor, Yesh Atid, Jewish Home and many other political parties exist in the Knesset (Israeli parliament) today. More will participate in the upcoming election. The influence that each party has in Israel’s election process is complex and diverse. Dana and Yakir (see below) will lead us in an in-depth exploration of the complexities of today’s political parties in Israel, the players in these parties, and the issues at stake in the March 17 elections.
