PE with Mr. A.
I really enjoyed our in-person and remote PE classes this term! I want to send a BIG Shout Out to all of the students in Mrs. Wheeler's, Ms. Duquette's, Mrs. Markiewicz' and Ms. Long's classes for doing an amazing job transitioning back and forth for our PE classes.

Music with Mrs. Peirce
I had so much fun these last 7 weeks singing and creating and zooming with Mrs. Garvey's and Mrs. Scorzafava's Kindergarten classes, Mrs. Duris's First Grade class, and Mrs. Hallett's Second Grade class.
In Kindergarten, we learned about the steady heartbeat of music and how to use our "just right" singing voices. We listened to Carnival of the Animals and made some pages for our own books.
In First Grade, we learned about rhythm symbols like ta, ti-ti, rest and to-e. We created and performed some really awesome music with these symbols and we learned how to draw them on paper and the computer!
In Second Grade, we learned about the notes on the staff like do, mi, so, and la. We also learned about scales and how to name the notes with really funny memory tools! We also learned about the piano and how to play on Chrome Music Lab's Shared Piano.
Thank you to all the wonderful students, parents, and caregivers as we sailed on this Remote and In-Person Learning Adventure! It really does take a village!

Cohort #2 News!
It has been a great pleasure working with students from Mrs. Schindel’s, Miss Tampone’s, Mrs. Saltmarsh and Mrs. Kimball’s classes for the 2nd Cohort. I’d like to give a Big “Dog” SHOUT-OUT to all the students, parents, and caregivers for your cooperation with our switch to full-remote learning.
The students started the 2nd Cohort off with the read aloud “Oh, the Things that You Can Do That Are Good for You,” by Dr. Seuss. This book outlined the age-appropriate dimensions of wellness that were learned and applied throughout the seven weeks. Topics included personal health and hygiene, mindfulness, preventing sickness, my body (i.e. bones, heart, lungs, brain, muscles), nutrition, sleep, and financial wellness. Physical activity “energizers”, brain gym strategies, mindfulness exercises, and muscle of the week were reinforced daily.

Digital Literacy with Mrs. Welch
As the school librarian, I add books whenever and wherever I can. We enjoyed some fun read-alouds as well, including a book from the short chapter book series, Rabbit and Robot and Ribbit by Cece Bell. I enjoyed teaching (and learning alongside these students remotely.)
Like most teachers, this year is my first experience teaching all of my students both in-person and remotely. This will be a group of students I will never forget. And a special THANK YOU to all of the adults, both in school and at home, who helped us with our remote learning along the way!
All the best,
Mrs. Welch
