Parent Information
First, I want to say "Woo Hoo! The EOC is behind us!" Our students at RCHS worked until the very last minute, so I have full confidence their results will reflect their effort. We probably won't get grade reports until the end of the school year as it takes a while to get all of the writing scored.
For the remainder of the year, we will be focusing on research skills, literary analysis, and grammar points, as well as continuing to improve their written expression. Much to the students' disappointment, English isn't over for the year. I do have their best interests in mind, and like I explained to them, "I'm here to teach them for life, not for a test."
This week is the 5th week of the 5th Six Weeks. Students who have missing assignments need to take care of these soon or they will be zeroes in the grade book. Some of your students may need reminding that they will retake English I next year if they do not pass this year; it is impossible to just move on at the high school level.
As always, please let me know if you have any questions or concerns about your child.
