SMART Family Literacy Outdoor Classrooms

Outdoor classrooms can provide the chance for students to grow their own food and more! SMART Family Literacy includes Science, Math, Art, Reading, and Technology interactions for GISD students and their families. The "Boxes for Tiny Gardeners" are painted by local artists and provided to local entities and families with small children who have limited space and experience with gardening. COVID-19 Symptoms Reminder

As a reminder, all Galveston ISD students and employees should stay home and get tested for COVID-19 if they are feeling sick. Any GISD student or staff member can make a same-day appointment for a COVID-19 rapid test at one of the Teen Health Center clinics and get test results in 15 minutes, free of charge. To schedule an appointment, call 409-761-3530.

Please stay home and get tested if you are experiencing at least two of the following symptoms:

• Fever (measured or subjective)

• Chills

• Myalgia (muscle aches/achiness)

• Headache

• Nausea or vomiting

• Diarrhea

• Fatigue

• Congestion or runny nose

Please stay home and get tested if you are experiencing any one of the following symptoms:

• Cough

• Sore throat

• Shortness of breath

• Difficulty breathing

• Loss of smell or taste
