As we all move to our new synchronous teaching platform, Newrow, we wanted to share one of the amazing assessment tools that is now at your fingertips! Newrow has an integrated Quiz Tool that is available to all teachers. The Quiz Tool will not only allow you to assess students during the session, but it will also allow you to see answers in live time! The data collected via the Quiz Tool is saved in Newrow for teachers to revisit after class and can be exported to Excel if needed.
The Quiz Tool allows teachers to create quizzes that play seamlessly in Newrow. Questions types include multiple choice, multiple answer, or open ended. Quizzes can be created ahead of time or during a live session. We encourage you to try this amazing assessment tool as you become more familiar with Newrow!
Visit the Newrow Knowledge Base here and more specifically, here to watch a video on how quizzes can work for you!

When students experience learning that meets a real need and the learning involves tools and processes used by professionals, they are more empowered to retain the knowledge acquired in their courses.
For example, when you want students to retain the knowledge in your course where do you start first? Do you first think about what deck you will create to go along with your lecture? Or do you consider what tool or process an adult would use to learn this skill or knowledge? As educators, would you agree that courses that provide time to practice, discuss, or teach your peers are the ones you gain the most content from? Let’s do the same with our online students. Look for ways to increase the retention of knowledge in live class connects by incorporating effective teaching practices highlighted in this video.
