ISTEP Snacks
Please use the link if you are willing to donate a healthy snack for our class.
Pennies for Patients
ISTEP
On Monday, February 29 we will begin our first round of ISTEP testing.
This portion includes:
Reading-Multiple reading passages and constructed responses
Math-Problem solving with writing portion
Writing-Extended responses to reading passages
All sections of ISTEP will be timed. Anything not finished cannot be completed at a later time.
What's happening this week in Room 512!
Math-
We are continuing in our Measurement unit. This includes measuring to the nearest inch, half inch, and quarter inch. In addition, we will learn units of length, capacity, and weight. We will be testing on Friday.
Please encourage studying math facts (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) at home. If you are unsure what facts your child should be studying, please email me. I can also print out flashcards to study at home.
Writing-
We are continuing test writing to better prepare for the ISTEP test.
Reading-
Unit 4 Week 3
Comprehension Strategy: Reread and ask/answer questions
Comprehension Skill: Compare and Contrast
Genre: Expository Text
Vocabulary Strategy: Sentence Clues
Social Studies-
Government - Open book test will be Thursday
