NEXT WEEK AT SCHOOL
It's the Week Before Christmas Break
Things You Need to Know
Dear CAES Parents and Students,
As we approach the last week of school before Christmas Vacation, I want to visit with you about how we are planning the week will go.
First, on Wednesday next week, grades 1-6 plan to go on a field trip. First, we will stop at Maple Park Nursing Home in Westfield where we will put on a little program for the people there. Then we will travel on to the Eiteljorg Museum in Indianapolis where we will eat our sack lunch and then take a tour of the museum. At he end of the tour, we will go through the Jingle Rails Display. This is a large room with a model train set-up of the American West. We will return to school by the 3:30 closing time. Although there is a cost for this, the school will be covering it, so there is no cost for our students.
The seventh and eighth graders will be visiting people who are not able to get out and about for various reasons. They will do this on Thursday of next week.
We are asking each student in school to bring 3 small wrapped gifts and 1 piece of fruit for these older people at the nursing home and the shut-ins which we will visit. This can be as simple as a comb, a hand lotion sample size, etc. No candy or food items please. The fruit will be given to the people which the seventh and eighth graders visit.
On Friday morning ( school lets out at 12:00 noon), the rooms will be doing some schoolwork, as well as having a little fun time. The teacher may be in touch.
It doesn’t seem possible that we are almost at Christmas Vacation! Time has been going by so fast. We want you to know how much we appreciate what you do to encourage and help your children to be the best they can be and do the best they can do. It is a pleasure to work with this school family!
Happy Holidays!
Mrs. Olson
p.s. Please remember the Night of Hope program this Saturday night. Students are to wear black bottoms and white tops. They need to be in their assigned seat by 6:50. Get drinks and visit restrooms right before.
