WRITING
With November here, we have been focusing on Thanksgiving in writing. This is a great time of year to remember to be grateful and thankful for all of the positive aspects of our life. We have spent some time reflecting on what we have to be thankful for. We will continue to write about some of our favorite blessings.
Social Studies
Ric Mixter will be here on Tuesday to teach us all about shipwrecks! Lake Michigan has thousands of lost shipwrecks hidden beneath its waves. From the first ship to ever sail upon its waters to the giant Carl D Bradley, mystery surrounds most of the ships that lie quietly beneath. Ric Mixter will explore with our students these wrecks. He will even share about the Edmund Fitzgerald. This program is sponsored by the Charlevoix Public Library.
Jeff Dykehouse from Mackinac Historic Parks will be in third grade on Thursday. Jeff brings Michigan’s ecosystem to the classroom with this Natural History program. Jeff teaches the natural history of our parks by spinning a web of life for students with taxidermy mounts, stories and activities.
