Leopard Pride

Senior drummer Miguel Covarrubias first met Jeremiah, who is visually impaired, after the band performance at Chalmers earlier this month. Jeremiah loves drumming, so Miguel gave him his sticks from his last GHS performance, and autographed them for Jeremiah during the senior hall walk.

Achievement in Excellence

Throughout the year, GISD employees are recognized as Teachers and Employees of the Month. However, we know we have many more employees that deserve recognition. The Achievement in Excellence awards is designed to give parents, students, community members, and staff the opportunity to nominate any employee who models our core values, which are character, commitment, and courage. This year, more than 130 nominations were submitted for 84 different employees. After careful review by the leadership committee, consideration was given to those that are a true model of our core values. They were each presented with a GISD Coin of Excellence
