H2O in CA gone?
By: Danielle Williams, Blake Dimos, and Aidan Marshall
How are we losing water?
California is losing it's water by waisting it and using it uselessly.
Water Usage
- Bathing
- Showers and Baths
- Toilets
- Kitchen
- Outdoors
- Leeks
Water Distributed
Usable water comes from ground water and surface water. However, all ground water and surface water are not drinkable. A little over half of ground water is drinkable. This is from water sheds. A little under half of surface water is drinkable. This includes some rivers, streams, ponds, and puddles.
Saving Water
- Turn water off while brushing teeth
- Shorter showers
- Less leaks
- Water your own at night or early in the morning to avoid water evaporating
- Use a bucket and sponge to wash your car instead of a hose
- Take showers less than five minutes which can save 1000 of gallons of water
- Take showers instead of baths which use 50 gallons less on average
Picking it Up
So far...
We have gotten so much better over the years only if we could keep doing that we might get out of the drought that we got ourself into.
