Gearing up for Spring!

Big picture

Registration Information

Registration is off to a great start! Thanks to everyone who came out 3/12/19.

We have been registering students during 1st period and will continue to do so throughout the month of March. Hopefully by this point you all have seen the yellow registration cards from your students (these went home in Rocket Power) and have signed any honors or AP contracts. The cards are also vital for planning out elective courses. Don't forget students must register for 8 total courses as well as 3 alternates.

Parents, missed Tuesday? not to worry...Thursday evening, 3/14 you can come to ACRHS from 3: 30-6pm, ask questions, meet with an advisor and make sure your student is on the right track.

Scholarship Information

The deadline for Buncombe County Schools Foundation Scholarships is quickly approaching. There are 10 scholarship opportunities that ACR seniors qualify for, including opportunities for students attending a community college. BCSF applications must be turned in to Ms. McCreary by March 22nd. Also due on March 22nd is the Journey Scholarship for students who reside in the Fairview or Shiloh Communities.

The spring season is the busiest time of the academic year for scholarship program deadlines. Scholarship programs search for recipients who are self-starters and take the initiative to complete tasks independently. Competitive ACR scholarship winners have been seniors who had well-developed and diverse resumes of activities and who persisted to apply to an assortment of scholarships, even after being rejected by some programs. It is important for seniors who wish to apply for scholarships to inform themselves of due dates and to create a timeline to manage these effectively. Announcements are made weekly, on Instagram, by email in our newsletter and all of the information that the counseling office receives is posted to the scholarship website. We hope students take the initiative and time to pursue these amazing opportunities!

Scholarship Opportunity for High Performing Juniors with Financial Need

There is an opportunity for high performing Juniors with financial need to apply for the Quest Bridge College Prep Scholarship program. We highly encourage qualified Juniors to consider this opportunity as ACR has had a graduate receive a full ride to North Western University through this program. The due date for the application is March 20th.
