MESSAGE FROM THE PROGRAM DIRECTOR
We LOVE our School and all who are part of CLA!!! We have had an awesome first half of the school year and cannot wait to see the amazing things we will accomplish in semester two! Reflecting on the last five months, we are so proud of the growth many of our Explorers have shown and the learning that has taken place. Quarter 3/Semester 1 Report Cards have been mailed home and give an idea of the learning taking place each day. Though our campus is not the final step in your Explorer's K12 journey, our charge is to provide as many concepts & skills as possible for Explorers to be successful into their high school years.
In this next semester, the scholar experience will continue to be enriched. Through field trips (on and off campus), different experiences, guest speakers, Career Chats and much more, our goal is to create the excitement for learning that will last far into our Explorer's future!
Lastly, we want to take a moment and express our gratitude to all our CLA families. Thank you for not just choosing CLA to serve your scholars educational needs, but for partnering with us to ensure your scholars are successful in all that they do, every single day! ♥️
Respectfully,

CLA Career Chat with Fire District #3
Our Middle School Explorers participated in a Career Chat with Fire District #3. Scholars had the opportunity to explore the Fire Engine, inquire about different roles associated with working in the field and what types of tools are involved. It was a great learning experience! Thank you Fire Dist. #3!
Field Trips & Experiences
We are excited to provide opportunities for our Explorers to participate in many Field Trips and Experiences in the first semester of the school year. Welcome Ms. Wright to the Middle School Teaching Team!
Please help us welcome our new Middle School Science Teacher, Kristine Wright. Ms. Wright will be serving the remainder of the school year for Mrs. Williams due to maternity leave. February School Meals Menu
If your scholar brings a lunch from home, but would still like the menu offering for the day, that is fine as well!
The link to the February Menu is also provided!
FYI: ClassTag Name Changed -> "SchoolStatus Connect"
Just as a heads up we wanted to let you know that our school to home communication tool has merged with another company! As of February 1, ClassTag was renamed SchoolStatus Connect. As a result of the rebrand, users will notice new colors and a new logo. If you also use the mobile app, your app icon should have automatically updated to the new logo.
These changes should not impact your ability to access the platform just as you always have. Please reach out via email if you have any questions or concerns!

- Please let your student know the after school plans or how they are being picked up early before they come to school to limit interruptions in the classroom throughout the day
With instruction being important, we are asking that families refrain from pulling scholars out of class early (prior to their release time) so they may interact with content as much as possible. Thank you so much for partnering with us to ensure our Explorers receive the most out of their learning time!!!
College & Career Gear Days
With that, on the first Thursday of each month, our Explorers and staff will wear College/University gear (logo t-shirts, lanyards, hats, etc) or wear/dress in the Career they hope to be or would like to highlight. Example: if a scholar is hoping to be a firefighter in the future and they have an outfit, they are encouraged to wear it on this day!
Our hope is that we begin encouraging our Explorers think about their future!
