Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Sacred Scripture JN 14:23

Jesus answered and said to him,
“Whoever loves me will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our dwelling with him."

Message of Mercy

Agents of Mercy

God’s mercy can make even the driest land become a garden, can restore life to dry bones (cf. Ez. 37:1-14)…. Let us be renewed by God’s mercy, let us be loved by Jesus, let us enable the power of his love to transform our lives too; and let us become agents of this mercy, channels through which God can water the earth, protect all creation, and make justice and peace flourish.

Urbi es Orbi, Easter, March 31, 2013

What are some of the “dry bones” in your life?

This message of mercy and reflection material is generously provided by Our Sunday Visitor, publisher of A Year of Mercy With Pope Francis: Daily Reflections.

PikMyKid has started ...

Over the past couple weeks we have been sending newsletter notices about PikMyKid, the new school dismissal system we started last week.

In case you missed our previous notices. PikMyKid is a phone application downloaded onto your smart phone (found in the app store), that will:

  • will allow you to notify the school of pick-up changes
  • authorize others to pick-up your child from school
  • alert you when your child has been picked up or sent home
  • help organize our classroom car lines during pick-up.

The registration process is easy and we have been asking that all parents register with the phone application by Monday, April 25, 2016. A Parent Manual is included below to help you understand how to use the application and assist you with this transition. Please make sure you register with the mobile phone number our school has on file for you and that it is a current number or the app will not allow you to access your child’s information for security reasons.

If you do not think the school has your mobile number on file or if your child does not appear in your app’s home page, contact with your child’s name, school, grade, and updated contact information for you.

Parents will represent how their students travel home using the phone application.

You are able to make daily dismissal changes until 1:00. After 1:00, please call the office.

We will transition to no longer using blue notes, except for early dismissal.

  • When making car rider changes, assign students who have the last names A-E to car line 1, last names F-N to car line 2, last names O-R to car line 3, & last names S-Z to car line 4. All JK students are assigned to car line 4. The pick-up rooms will remain the same.

  • When you get in line outside the pick-up room, please open your PikMyKid app and press the orange announce button for the child(ren) you are to pick up. If you are picking up in multiple pick up rooms please announce for one child at a time at the correct time (when you actually get in that room’s line) so you don’t hold up the line.

  • Please make sure anyone picking up in your place understands the pick-up process and has been officially delegated to within the app and the form shows your child’s correct car line. We have also included a short, two page parent guide to the PikMyKid App. If the person you would like to have pick-up your child does not have the app, he or she will wait at the end of the dismissal line and teacher will authorize the pick-up based on the authorized release list and driver's license, as before.

NOTE: If for some reason you are not going to use, or cannot use, PikMyKid, please continue using the process we have been using up to now -- use the blue notes to let the school office know your child's plans for transportation home from school, go to your designated Kdg or Gr1 room as usual, be ready to show your driver's license as authorized person to pick up your child.

Please call the Office if you still have questions.

We are so excited to report latest returns for our Walkathon, moving Full STEAM ahead!

  • Thank you Grizzlies!!! Keep it going!!!
  • Keep getting the word out, share our needs and our goal with whoever you can! Your sharing words make a huge difference!

As we move closer toward our STEM Designation credential from the Ohio Department of Education, the Walkathon will greatly help us raise the funds for resources and equipment to enhance student's project-based learning and collaboration.

These include such things as robotics, 3D printers, other technology and programmable devices and Maker Space supplies, and collaborative student desk furniture. We are also going to upgrade the stage area lighting, which will increase stage usage for integrating performing arts into STEAM projects.

Thank you for your support!

Poem in my Pocket Day! Poetry was the focus today as Fr. Fred visited third grade and shared a poem as well as listened to favorite poems read by the children. He visited fifth grade and listened to their written poems regarding the book, Holes by Louis Sachar. Seventh grade buddies were able to share their poems with Kindergarten buddies, too as the whole school celebrated Poem in My Pocket Day!
