In this time of life teens they can be under stress from moving to elementary-to middle school or middle school-to high school

Teenagers need a lot of nutrients and rest during this time of their life

Meal for Breakfast

Oatmeal and fresh berries!


* 1/2 cup quick-cook 1 minute oatmeal ( skip the instant kind- it has more sugar and salt)

*1 cup skim milk

*1/4 cup fresh or frozen berries

Meal for lunch

Roast Beef roll-ups!


*18" whole-wheat wrap

* 4 oz. ( 4 slices) lean roast beef

*4 thin slices tomato

*1/2 cup lettuce

* 1/2 cup red or green peppers

* 2 tsp. mustard

Meal for Dinner

Shrimp and veggie stir-fry!


*1 cup cooked brown rice, prepared according to package

* 3 oz. shrimp'

* 1/2 cup frozen broccoli

* 1/2 cup frozen red and green pepper strips

*1 tbsp. canola oil

* 1 tbsp. low-sodium soy sauce

Calorie Needs for teens

Girls 13-18 need 1,600-1,800 per day but when active may need 2,200-2,400 calories per day

Boys 13-18 need 1,600-2,000 calories per day if very active they may need 2,400-2,800


Everyone needs a lot of healthy foods and nutrients to grow strong especially during the age of a teen
