Harnett
Harnett was founded in 1855. It is named for Cornelius Harnett, an American Revolutionary war soldier who was also a delegate to the Continental Congress. Its neighboring counties are Wake, Johnston, Sampson, Cumberland, Moore, Lee, and Chatham. It is located in the Piedmont region of NC.

Harnett is governed by a Board of Commissioners that consists of five members. The county manager is Joseph Jefferies.

Named after Revolutionary War officer John Alexander Lillington, the city offers a variety of experiences including several historic sites. Lillington is run by town manager William Summers, mayor Glenn McFadden, and five council members.
