During last week’s Rivalry Week, Hamilton and Chandler High Schools worked together to raise donations for the Arizona “Make-A-Wish” foundation. Make-A-Wish provides critically ill children a once in a lifetime experience with their family members. Experiences include: I want to meet someone, I want to visit some place, or I want to be someone for a day. Both student councils are proud of their school communities and their participation for raising $3,896 last week for the foundation.

THE GIVING SEASON
The holiday season is fast approaching and CHS is offering several ways to contribute. This month’s Donation Request List is geared towards the collection of teen stocking stuffers. This year CHS has also organized a Sponsor-A-Family for the Holiday program. If you, your family, or a group/organization is interested in helping a student or a family this Holiday season, please contact Lorena Diaz, CHS Social Worker, at diaz.lorena@cusd80.com or call 480-812-7826, and she would be happy to provide you with more information.
Finally, our colleague Mrs. Caroline Sheridan is putting together a library of kid and young adult books to donate. Books can be dropped off in the front office. Thanks so much for your support!
TAX CREDIT DONATIONS APPRECIATED
Chandler High School appreciates tax credit donations to go toward extracurricular activities. Arizona law ARS 43-1089.01 enables taxpayers a tax credit contribution of up to $400.00 per calendar year if filing status is Married, filing Joint Return; $200.00 per calendar year if filing status is Single or Head of Household; and, $200.00 per calendar year if filing status is Married filing separate return — for contributions that fund extracurricular activities in public schools. A tax credit is a full refund, not a deduction.
Contributions eligible for a tax credit are donated directly to schools, not to the state or the school district. To participate, click the link below to donate online or you can print a form to complete and submit your contribution. Thank you for your support!
