A School to Emulate

Memorial Elementary Bobcat Bulletin 3-13 through 3-18-16

Welcome Back!

Welcome Back Everyone! I hope you all had an enjoyable spring break. The rainy weather certainly helped me to get some much needed rest. We all know that after spring break comes testing season and the school year is over in the blink of an eye. I have been excited to get back to work and finish the year strong with you.

Like after any break, we have all been out of our routines for a while. It may take us a couple of days to get back into the swing of things. Be sure to take some time to review and practice the procedures and expectations with our students. Be patient with yourselves and our students as we adjust.

You are in for a treat!!! Our library is coming along beautifully. When you get a moment go and take a look. When I walked in it took my breath away and I was literally speechless! This is only the 1st stage. I can't wait to see the finished product.

This school year we have been talking about the new teacher appraisal system, T-TESS. Superintendent Binggeli has created a short (3 min) video to help us all learn a bit more about the appraisal system. He has asked Principals to share the following link with you as we transition from PDAS to T-TESS https://youtu.be/bGObA9SP9Dc. Superintendent Binggeli refers to a rubric in the video. The following link will take you to the rubric. You can also find it in the Google Memorial Staff Folder and the T-TESS subfolder https://drive.google.com/drive/u/0/folders/0B75ruoMDq8zCdXU1TnF1M01FaTA.

This Saturday, March 19th, is our final Saturday School of the year. Please be sure that students and families are aware.

Sara and I will be meeting individually with the 5th grade students this week. Should you need us will be spending much of our time in the 5th grade wing.

I LOVE the student work displays. Thank you so much for taking the time to post!

Lastly, remember that "unknown" district personnel will enter the building using doors other than the main entrance. They will see how much of the building they can access before being addressed by staff and escorted to the main office. We got this!

Thanks everyone and let's have a great week back!

That's HILARIOUS! Send your funnies my way...

During an assessment the 5th grade students were asked to share something "distinct" about the school or their classroom. One 5th grade student said "When we get back from recess there is always a distinct smell coming from the fifth graders."

Marisa and the literacy vertical team for planning and executing and AMAZING Literacy Night and Open House. Shelby for volunteering her time over spring break to join the Boy Scouts at the Fish and Fun Day.
