Arrival and Dismissal Procedures:
Arrival
Because of Covid, we are making a few changes to our arrival and dismissal procedures.
- We need parents to wait until 7:30 to drop off their students. However, if they must, they can drop off in the back circle as early as 7:15. Please do not drop off before that time.
- Students will not wait in the cafeteria or gym in large groups as they once did. Students will go directly to their hallway and wait for the 7:30 bell to enter the classroom.
- If a student needs breakfast, they may stop in the cafeteria and eat.
- If parents are walking their students to school, they will have designated doors to enter. . Please remember to maintain social distancing.
Dismissal:
- Our front circle drive is ONLY for school buses and day cares. You will need to park at First Baptist or on the neighboring streets if you plan on walking to pick up your students.
- 2:30- Pre-K will dismiss from front doors.
- 2:40- Walkers will dismiss from their designated doors.
- 2:50- Car riders will dismiss from the back circle drive. Please note that only K, 1st, and 2nd graders are moving to the gym and cafeteria to wait . All other students remain in their classroom until their number is called. This will limit the number of students in the hallway at a given time.
Biggest changes to note:
- Please try to not arrive until 7:30 a.m.
- If your child has an afternoon appointment, they must be picked up before 2:15pm.
- Picking up your child during the day? Ring the doorbell and we will bring your child outside to you. Please make sure you have your driver's license with you.
Digital Learning Help
Greetings from the Digital Learning Department in Denton ISD!
As Wednesday, August 26, fast approaches, we know that comfort and familiarity with digital platforms is critical for a smooth first day of school. We’re excited to offer resources to help families work through accessing and using Denton ISD’s digital platforms in support of the fully remote start to the school year. We hope these resources help you go from powering on to joining a class.
At www.dentonisd.org/backtoschool, look for the “Need Digital Support” icon to find links to digital preparation checklists that include procedures for the following digital tasks:
- Logging into and using a district-issued Chromebook
- Accessing the district Single Sign On (SSO) Portal
- Signing into and using Seesaw (Elementary) or Canvas (Secondary)
- Joining a Microsoft Teams or Zoom meeting
- View videos explaining how to log into Seesaw
- View videos explaining how to log in to Canvas
While your child should be able to manage the learning platforms because of their familiarity with the software, we would still encourage you to look at these as well. By working through these resources together, you will gather essential information that benefits parents and students. Should you need to reset a password, the site provides information on how to request it.
If you need a device for remote learning and/or a jetpack for internet connectivity, please contact your child’s campus for information about device pick-up.
If you need additional support, go here to find digital learning support staff for your child’s zone.
We are here to support you as much as possible, so please remain patient with us on any troubleshooting concerns. Stay tuned to the district website and our social media platforms - Facebook, Twitter, Instagram - for the latest updates on digital learning support.
