Newsletters, Emails, and More
Our goal is to have teachers post all newsletters on Sycamore, so you always know where to find them! In the days ahead, Mrs. Eads will send home a step-by-step guide detailing how to log on and find everything you need.
Although this system was new last year, we are jumping into new capabilities and it is a serious learning curve for us all. We ask that you please be patient with us as we figure out the best way to use the system so that everyone has equal access to classroom information available to you 24/7. When in doubt, assume the best and know that each teacher IS posting a newsletter and wants to ensure it gets to you.
If you notice you aren't receiving emails from the teachers, please email the teacher and let him/her know! You can find all of the teacher email addresses below.

New Water Fountains
Encourage your child to bring his/her water bottle each day. Bottles can be filled while in the gym each morning or throughout the day.
The Rosary Project
Please take time to pray with your child, encouraging him to pray for others and for himself. In our busy world, stopping to pray the rosary can slow us down, calm our hearts, and enable us to rest in God's hands. It allows us the opportunity to let the deepest part of our souls be known to God so that He can work in our lives. When you are feeling stressed or anxious, praying the rosary helps to center your thoughts and restores calm in your life. What a powerful experience to share with our children!
When your child brings home the rosary, be sure to take it out of the bag, look at it, allow your child to touch the beads and to ask questions about them. You don't have to know all of the answers! The greatest conversations often come when we say to our children, "I don't know, but let's find out together!" Find time during the week to pray and meditate with the rosary, so that when the next student in class brings it home, he will have the power, not only in his own prayers, but in the prayers of those who came before him.
How do you find JOY in your daily life?
In thinking about this theme, it has really forced me to take a look at my day to day routines and ask myself some hard questions. When people see me, do they believe I am a joyful person? Do I encourage those around me to be joyful? Or do I allow negativity to rule and drag me, and those around me, down? What I have found is that my life is so much better when I focus on JOY, and at school we want our students to leave each day feeling joyful and excited for the challenges that lie ahead.
Although "YOU" comes last in our acronym, I truly believe that no one can truly be joyful if they don't first focus on finding their own personal joy, their own personal relationship with Jesus, and their own heart for serving others. Joy isn't something we can force ourselves to feel. It is a feeling that comes after living a fulfilling life, and that fulfillment comes in different forms for each of us.
I have always found that in my lowest moments, my hope comes from Jesus. When nothing seems to be going right, when my world has been turned upside down, the ONE thing that has always kept me from slipping right over the edge has been my own personal relationship with God. That relationship, however, is one that goes up and down. Sometimes I am truly devoted to my personal prayer life and other times I allow the chaos of my life to knock me off track. Yet, time and time again, it's my relationship with God that puts me back on the right path.
Maybe it's turning off the radio on my drive to work and simply spending that time in prayer. Maybe it's taking a few minutes during my day to step away from my desk and talk with God. Whatever that relationship is for you, it's an important step towards becoming a more joyful person. It's easy to get caught up in the negativity of life. It's easy to take on a "poor me" mentality and turn away from God. It takes strength and courage to turn to God in those times and say, "Lead me, Lord."
This year, we will encourage our student to turn to Jesus when searching for joy. We will encourage our students to pray when times are good, pray when times are hard, and allow Him to fill our lives with Joy. When our students walk out the doors smiling each day, we will know we're on the right path. At home, you can encourage your child to look for the good in each day, to seek out ways to help others, and to make a conscious decision to find joy in every single day.

St. Patrick School
St. Patrick's School
The mission of St. Patrick School is to develop young men and women with active and creative minds, a sense of understanding and compassion for others, and the courage to act on their beliefs. We stress the total development of each child: spiritual, moral, intellectual, social, emotional, and physical. Encouragement is given to students to bring their lives into conformity with God's will and plan, so that He is glorified.
