Spring has Sprung

Hello everyone-

I hope that this finds everyone doing well. Students had a nice four day weekend and I'm sure this allowed you to reconnect with your kiddos in fun ways! I have heard all about all the sports restarting and how busy have been and the weather has been so nice for this.

Lola had a birthday this week. She is one of the two therapy dogs that we have at Robinson. Millie is our other therapy dog. We are so grateful to them and their owners. The kids love having them around and they support many students on an individual basis as well.

Please reach out if you have any questions, concerns, ideas, or if we can provide support in any way. Thank you for your partnership in keeping the Robinson community safe.

Take Care-

Boosterthon Update Week 2

Robinson & Kirkwood Families!

We’re only 2 weeks away from our Robinson & Kirkwood At Home Fun Run! Our goal is to raise $10,000 for Classroom Libraries!

Here is a quick video overview of our fundraising program.

Also, here are a few things to know about this important fundraiser:

  • All families can support our school by either donating, sharing on, or both. Students can receive rewards when parents share from

  • All students get to participate in the event day, regardless of financial participation

  • This fundraiser comes with an incredible character development program for students where they’ll be learning about the importance of teamwork, care, courage, grit and celebration

Our Kirkwood At Home students have two options for participating in the culminating event on May 6th.

  • Option 1- participate at home through a virtual Dance Party (8:30-9:05), have fun dancing with their classmates and teachers from around the district in the comfort of their home.

  • Option 2- Participate in person through a Fun Run at Robinson Elementary. Our students' run will take place at 8:45-9:30 on 3 separate tracks. By having multiple tracks and staggering when they begin running they should not be running in close proximity to others. If we have a lot of families choose this option, we will add a 4th track location in the gym. The run is before any other students arrive and they will not co-mingle or be in close contact with other students. All Boosterthon staff will complete health screenings and follow all our health and safety protocols. You can watch the run from the top of the hill on the sidewalk (or you can bring a blanket and sit in the grass).

Our Robinson students will all be participating in the culminating Fun Run event.

We are working hard to make this fundraiser safe, fun, and successful for everyone!

Key dates to remember:

  • Donating Opens - 4/20

Register on FUNRUN.COM, SHARE, & GIVE!

  • Fundraiser Kick Off 4/27

  • Event Day - 5/6

Thank you for working with us to make our school stronger. We are grateful for your support!

To make up for lost time we are having our first ever beginning band camp this summer, June 7-17 at KHS. Camp will run from 9:00am-11:30am and is for any current 5th grade/incoming 6th grade student. If you started playing virtually this year, we encourage you to join us! If you did not start this year and would like to start in person this summer, we would love for you to join us!

Students will be introduced to instrument assembly and sound, note values and rhythms. They will learn to read a staff key and a time signature, learn some fun songs and give an outdoor performance for family members on the last day of camp. Each participant will need to bring his/her own instrument. We recommend renting from Nottelmann Music. Campers should choose from the following: flute, clarinet, trumpet or baritone. Musician’s masks and instrument bell covers will be provided at camp.

Summer School Information

The calendar has turned to March, and it’s hard to not peak ahead to spring break, fourth quarter, and even the summer months. This is also the time of year that we normally put final touches on plans for summer school and summer professional learning. What we’ve experienced over the last year is far from normal, though. Any conversations about summer must recognize and honor that we’re all running on fumes, even with three months left in the year.

Please visit our Summer School website to learn more about our expanded summer options for students. A range of K-12 jobs will be posted later this week, and additional information about professional learning and curriculum work will be shared soon.

Student and staff wellbeing has been and will be central to our planning. Families will need time away this summer, and many will schedule vacations that have been on hold for months. We know this, and we appreciate this - just as we know and appreciate that many students have academic and social-emotional needs to be addressed. Our summer plans seek to balance the needs of students and staff, recognizing important work to be done while keeping wellness at the forefront of our thinking.
