Liberty Early Childhood Center
November 2018
Dear Families,
As we look forward to the busy holiday season, we would like to take the time to let you know how thankful we are for our little learners. Our students truly benefit from a strong partnership between school and home. We appreciate the wonderful participation in our October Parent/Teacher conferences. Thank you so much to our families who provided donations for the staff meal during conferences and to those who supported the ECC through participation in the Scholastic Book Fair. Our next opportunity for scheduled parent/teacher conferences will be in March. We also want to thank our ECC families for supporting our United Way Campaign.
As the weather turns colder and weather reporters begin to talk about snow, we want to share some information regarding weather related school closings. School will not be in session when it is considered too dangerous for buses to travel or too cold for student safety. Decisions about school closings are made by the District Administration and communicated to parents via several sources, including QuickNews, The LPS Mobile App, information from the district webpage, local television stations and social networking options like FaceBook and Twitter. When you see Liberty Public Schools are closed-this includes the Early Childhood Center. Parents should keep their children home if they believe weather conditions are too threatening or severe.
We are thankful for the opportunity to share this school year with your little one!
Wishing you well,
Dr. Sarah Birk,
Principal, Liberty Early Childhood Center

- Children are NOT allowed to eat on the bus. Please be sure your child has time to eat their breakfast or lunch before you expect the bus to arrive.
- Any changes in bus transportation will require a minimum of 3 days to process. Remember, a change in your transportation address may impact your child's ability to have bus service. Since we serve the entire Liberty school district-addresses are routed either as an AM or PM attendance area.
- Make sure someone is available to meet the bus at pick-up and drop-off times. An adult must be present for the child to be released off the bus. Please see your parent handbook for additional information.
