Roald Dahl was born September 13th, 1916, in Wales. His parents, Harald Dahl and Sofie Magdalene Hesselberg, had six other children besides Dahl. He had three sisters, a brother, and two older sisters from his father's earlier marriage. He was named after Norway's famous polar explorer, Roald Amundsen. When he was born, the country that he was born into was in the middle of the First World War. When he was 2, the war ended.
In 1939, Roald Dahl joined the Royal Air Force(RAF). After being involved in a plane crash in 1940, he rejoins RAF in Athens, Greece in April of 1941. In April-August of 1942, he gets posted to Washington, where he completes his first paid piece of writing. He meets his future wife, Patricia Neal in 1951 and marries her July 2nd of 1953 at the age of 37 in New York. Two and four years later, he has two daughters, Olivia and Tessa. He has another child named Theo in 1960. After his first daughter dies at age seven, he has another named Ophelia in 1964. After separating from Patricia, he marries another woman in named Felicity "Liccy" Crosland in 1983. His date of death was nine years later on November 23rd, 1990.

George's Marvelous Medicine
This marvelous story was originally published in 1981. It was written by the one and only, Roald Dahl and illustrated by Quentin Blake. this 89 paged book is about an eight-year-old boy named George. When George is left alone with the responsibility to make his nasty grandmother take her medicine, he doesn't exactly get the job done. When its time to give her the medicine, George decides to make a new medicine to either cure or get rid of his grandmother. When he gives it to her, something marvelous happens! after this, he tries to remake it, but can't seem to remember what he used to make it. During all of his trial and errors, he test the medicine on his farm animals.
