Message from the Principal
From smoke filled skies to road construction throughout much of our community, this week brought more challenges to our already complex lives! Despite the many obstacles we are facing, we share the common goal of helping our students grow and learn. Together we are making this work. Our staff continues to be appreciative of the sacrifices families are making to support their children's education and I encourage you to reach out to us when you need assistance. We have had strong attendance to both our live and on campus one-on-one meetings. Parents continue to reach out when they have questions or concerns. Work is being completed and turned back to the teachers. For all this monumental effort, I celebrate you!
Parents, we recognize and greatly appreciate your diligence in social distancing when on campus and wearing your face coverings. The safety of our families will continue to be a high priority at Pinewood School.
As we begin our weekend, please take that the time to step away from your school commitments. I hope these two days bring opportunities for rest and relaxation.
How Full is Your Bucket?
At Pinewood Elementary, we most often begin our school year reading How Full is Your Bucket? for Kids by Tom Rath. This story illustrates the importance of showing kindness and supporting one another. We often refer to our students as "Bucket Fillers" when they show these strong character qualities. If you would like to check out a copy of this book to read at home, please visit the school office.
Thank you! We made huge progress this past week getting many families into the Aeries system to allow them to confirm their data. Please note that next week we will be sending out the sign on instructions and verification pass codes to the small group of individuals who still need to get this done.
Mark your Calendars! Monday, September 7th is Labor Day. This will be a non-instructional day.
