A Message from Mrs. Fortunato
Thanksgiving Week Newsletter 2021
Dear Parents,
The 40th anniversary Mass at St. Francis Cathedral was beautiful. Happy anniversary Diocese of Metuchen. I felt so proud to be a part of a diocese so rich in ethnicity. However, I was super proud of our students who attended Mass to represent our school.
In Bishop Checchio's heart-felt Homily he encouraged us to "see" what is in front of us and not what is missing. He spoke about how we need to apply this to the people as well. Our focus should be on people's God-given gifts and talents and not their short comings. Bishop's Homily has made me reflect on my personal and work relationships. As I enter into Thanksgiving Day weekend, I will be thinking of ways to grow as a good Christian. I will be more sensitive to recognizing my blessings and not short comings. I will be more diligent about expressing gratitude toward the people around me.
Great news about our Farmer's Market! Our last "outdoor" farmer's market is Sunday. However, during the winter months, the market will continue inside the Parish Hall (room under the church) on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month. As always, we are grateful for your support.
On Friday we said, "good-bye" to one of our kindergarten teachers, Mrs. Christine Galloway. We wish Mrs. Galloway many blessings in her future. At the same time, we are blessed to welcome Miss Brionna Hawkins as she prepares to take Mrs. Galloway's position. Miss Hawkins had the opportunity to meet her new students this week and some of her student's parents. We hosted a brief parent meeting Thursday morning to introduce Miss Hawkins and look forward to a seamless teacher transition.
ICS is preparing its Christmas float for the 2021 Clinton Christmas parade scheduled for Friday, December 3rd at 7 pm.! The ICS teacher committee is off and running with addressing all details required to get our school's float decorated and ready for a fun packed evening! The parade starts at 7 pm in the town of Clinton. I will try to get more details sent home next week.
God Bless~
Mrs. Fortunato
