WEEK 4 ACADEMIC NUDGE
There are four points this semester where we are gathering data about students academically collegewide; Enrollment Verification (Week 2), Academic Survey/nudge (Week 4), Midterm Grades (Week 7) and Final Grades. Next week is the Academic Survey/nudge!
On Monday you will get a brief survey per section taught that will ask how your students are doing academically. This brief survey will accomplish two goals: (1) Provide instructors a quick and efficient way to report students in need of academic support and (2) Connect students with helpful support networks early in the semester to increase overall student success.
At the beginning of week 5, students who were flagged for academic support by their instructors will receive a message about these concerns from Academic Affairs. The message will include a form with information about academic support services and ask students to indicate which services they intend to access. Students will receive a follow-up email(s) based on their choices.
Please do not use this process as a substitute for directly communicating your concerns and recommendations with students.
As always, if you have concerns about a student’s mental health, student conduct, or wellbeing, please fill out this form ASAP so that the SCART team can be alerted.
FACE SHIELDS AVAILABLE
Late last spring the college ordered a supply of face shields from the Generator. We now have a leftover supply that we can distribute on a first-come first-serve basis. The primary purpose of a face shield is for eye protection, but it does cover your nose and mouth. Face masks must still be worn with a face shield. If you would like one of the remaining face shields please contact Nic Anderson (nanderson@champlain.edu).
CAMPUS ACCESS
Access to all campus outside doors are ID access only. The classrooms are open during normal business hours, and do not require an ID to access. Students who need an ID or are having trouble with their ID card access should contact Compass@champlain.edu. Faculty & Staff who are having ID card trouble should contact Kellie Nadeau in the Provost’s Office (knadeau@champlain.edu).
